Indian government extends Armed Forces Act in Nagaland

The Indian Central Government has decided to extend the implementation of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, in eight specific districts and 21 police jurisdictions in Nagaland. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has declared these areas as "disturbed" for a six-month period starting from April 1, 2024. The affected districts include Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek, and Peren.

Kejriwal's ED custody extended till April 1

Kejriwal was produced in court on Thursday as his six-day custodial remand with the ED came to an end. This comes just a day after the Delhi High Court denied the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo immediate relief, stating that it would not interfere with his arrest by the ED.

Alarmingly, after users decline the password reset prompts, fraudsters masquerade as Apple Support via phone calls. 'Political pressure threat to judiciary': 600 lawyers write to CJI

More than 600 lawyers have written a letter to Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud expressing their concerns about attempts by a certain group to manipulate the judiciary. The lawyers condemned the "vested interest group" for attempting to manipulate judicial processes, influence court judgments, and damage the judiciary's reputation with false claims. The letter was signed by prominent lawyers such as Harish Salve, Manan Kumar Mishra, Adish Agarwala, Chetan Mittal, Hitesh Jain, Ujjwala Pawar, Uday Holla, and Swaroopama Chaturvedi.
